The Club first entered a team in the 1955/56 season of the VWCA competition and during 1957 was admitted to membership of the enrolled clubs of the Melbourne University Sports Union. Melbourne University Women's Cricket Club were premiers of the highest grade in the VWCA competition first in season 1964/65.
